Anybody who can definitively name the drummer on the opening theme of “The Streets Of San Francisco” I’d appreciate it. Why? Just for my own satisfaction. I’ve just been recently re-watching this great 70s cop show at home on a Stewart Firefox screen and a full range sound system (B&W 802s, big ole sub, etc.etc.). The opening theme by Patrick Williams with the absolutely killer drum break is something else, ditto that buttery sound of the trombones and French horns playing in unison. It got me to wondering who that drummer might be. If you saw this, like me, back in the day on a regular TV with it’s tiny speaker(s), it’s quite a shock to hear this theme full range. Just as shockingly good is the picture qualityof the DVD, even blown up to 120 inches (looks sharper than The Sweeney, which I believe was filmed on 15mm). First person to correctly name that drummer gets $25 worth of LPs free or 25 bucks off their next order. JT.
