What we have here are the remains of Blackhawk Jazz Records inventory still sealed in shipping cartons. As I recently reported I was off on a trip to view what I thought would be around 100,000 LPs about 38,000 of which were sealed and 62,000 used LPs (mostly jazz). Well, the 38,000 were the remainder of Blackhawk jazz plus some other associated labels like Catero. Multiple copies of the same titles had remained sealed in shipping cartons since the 1980’s along with thousands of long box CDs and thousands of cassettes.
Unfortunately there were only around 3,000 used jazz records most of which were not in usable condition, so I had to pass and in a way was pleased not to have to move and store this massive chunk of vinyl.
